The Ferrari F355, built from ’94-’99, replaced the 348 model and was the first road car to feature F1-style sequential transmission with paddle shifters as an alternative to the standard 6-speed gearbox. The 355 became one of the most popular Ferrari models of all time, singlehandedly saving the manufacturer from impending bankruptcy. True to form, the 355 was a mid-engine, RWD coupe powered by a dry-sump 3.5 liter V8 with 5 valves per cylinder and 11.0:1 compression. Developing 375 hp, the F355 was available in several trim levels: the Berlinetta, the Spider, the GTS, the Challenge and the limited-run Serie Fiorano.
