In 2009, Ferrari introduced the successor to the F430, the 458 Italia, a completely redesigned platform relying heavily on F1 technologies. The new 4.5 liter V8 pumps out 562 bhp and 398 ft-lbs of torque and currently holds the world record for most horsepower per liter in a naturally aspirated production car engine. The classic gated 6-speed manual gearbox was not offered in the 458, only a GETRAG dual-clutch 7-speed, which is shared with the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG.
