Introduced in 2005, the C6 brings the Corvette into the 21st century with a redesigned body, new LS3 motor, and the reintroduction of the ZR-1 model, the most powerful production model to date. The lighter-weight Z06 was released in 2006 and came equipped with a 7.0 liter, dry-sump oiled LS7 motor producing 505 hp. Fuel economy was another improvement in the 6th generation cars, allowing the ‘Vette to avoid the newly imposed “gas guzzler” taxes.
