BMW M3 (E36)

The second generation M3 first debuted in Europe in 1992; it was not available in North America until 1995. For the initial 1995 offering, the E36 came equipped with a 3.0 inline-6 motor producing 240 hp and 225 lb-ft of torque, while 1996-1999 models were upgraded to a 3.2 liter which put down the same hp, but 240 lb-ft of torque. Available as a coupe, sedan or convertible, the E36 was offered with a 5-speed manual or automatic transmission. The 3.0 liter engine propelled the car from 0-62 mph in 5.6 seconds and allowed for a top speed of 137 mph. The 3.2 liter engine shaved a second off the 0-62 mph time and bumped the top speed up to 139 mph.
