We all get itches from time to time. Some are just a burning desire for something more in life. Others should be checked out by a trained medical professional. But we digress. While many Lamborghinis come packed with horsepower and racing prowess, there are often times when no amount of satisfaction can be attained by a car enthusiast from just a stock car. It is a carryover from the weekend wrenchers and race car drivers from a time when engines and transmissions could be easily swapped, percolating some of the best sleeper machines to date.
In the performance ring, JDM often stresses harmony when improving the car, maintaining the original intent and spirit of the car. Regan Yu with his NSX ticks many of these same boxes, but stands out because of the overall ethos of his approach to the build. You see, Regan is a passionate enthusiast, but he also possesses a keen sense of value and an ability to recognize quality. It is a trait that serves him well in his professional life in commercial real estate, and that same trait has paid dividends in his approach to building his NSX.
While on location at the Hennessey Performance Engineering facility in Sealy, TX, for the event known as TX2K, the weather simply wouldn’t cooperate, so we were forced to pack up and entertain ourselves elsewhere. With our britches drenched, the #TeamRevv gear stashed in the transport and our sights set on the streets of Houston, Revvolution president Ryan Randels decided we had nothing else to lose and struck up a quick conversation with TX2K organizer, Peter Blach. Within a few moments, Peter worked his power of persuasion and convinced John Hennessey, the owner of the American tuning powerhouse, to grant us a brief thirty minutes with his latest creation.
SoCal native, Andy Kuo’s 2007 WRX was the first vehicle feature we shot as part of the tour. It couldn’t be a more fitting ride as it exemplifies everything that Revvolution stands for. It has the looks, the style and the performance we love.
