RECORDS FROM 2017 HEUBERGER SUBARU PIKES PEAK AIRSTRIP ATTACK
In 2017, Lucas English piloted the Extreme Turbo Systems 2013 Nissan GTR down the tarmac at 255.54 mph, setting the all time standing half-mile top-speed world record, as well as a new world record for the Nissan GTR Platform.
Myles Kerr of English Racing explains what the Pikes Peak Airstrip Attack means to his team, and as a competitor. "Ever since we went to the very first Pikes Peak Airstrip Attack in 2014, we have been addicted. There’s nothing cooler than going 200+ mph down a runway with one of the most famous mountains in the automotive world as a backdrop. The scenery is amazing, and the community is welcoming. Let’s not forget about the tarmac either, it’s the best hooking ½ mile runway we have ever been on. Team English Racing is coming in full force with at least four 200+ mph cars this year!”
Another record was set by Maude Bouladier with OB Prestige Auto. Maude and her 2015 Pink Lamborghini Huracan, aka "Sexy,” set the record for fastest woman in the standing mile, hitting 210.67 mph!
The records didn’t stop there, Morris Malone set a new Corvette record in his 2007 Chevrolet Corvette Z06, hitting 220.80 mph in the standing half-mile. The Subaru WRX record was also beat by Andy Hartbough and Zack Morgan of PRE Racing in their 2005 Subaru WRX STi, hitting 184.58 mph.
Last, but not least, is Myles Kerr of English Racing. Myles finally achieved his personal goal of breaking the 200 mph barrier in his 1994 Acura Integra by posting a top speed of 201.07 mph, which is also a new front-wheel-drive and Acura Integra record!
