This past weekend, the fourth annual Heuberger Subaru Pikes Peak Airstrip Attack will once again go down in history as the largest event of its kind in the world! More than 7,000 adrenaline-seeking spectators, competitors, sponsors and media flocked to the Colorado Springs Airport as new world records were set, engines were blown and egos were destroyed!

Saturday afternoon, as the day’s temperatures began to decline, Lucas English strapped in behind the wheel of the Extreme Turbo Systems 2013 Nissan GTR and made his first successful attempt at setting the standing half-mile top speed world record by trapping a speed of 252 MPH. As if setting the record once in an event wasn’t enough for English, he then made a "low boost pass” Sunday morning with significantly lower ambient temperatures and nearly cracked the 250 MPH boundary once again. With confidence high, nerves settled, temperatures low and a grueling 15 MPH head-wind, English turned up the boost and knocked out a 255.54 MPH pass setting the all time standing half mile top speed world record! This also represents a new world record for the Nissan GTR platform.
Another record was set this weekend by the OB Prestige Auto team as Maude Bouladier rocketed her way to a new world record of fastest woman in the standing half mile! Bouladier piloted the pink 2015 Lamborghini Huracan, known affectionately as "Sexy”, to a 210.67 MPH record as the world watched on.
Even more United States records were set this weekend! Morris Malone piloted his 2007 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 to a speed of 220.80 MPH in the standing half mile on Sunday afternoon.
Andy Hartbough and Zack Morgan of PRE Racing set a new Subaru platform record in their 2005 Subaru WRX by posting a speed of 184.58 MPH, besting the previous record of 182.77 MPH.
Myles Kerr of English Racing finally achieved his personal goal of breaking the 200 MPH barrier in his 1994 Acura Integra by posting a top speed of 201.07 MPH, which is also a new front-wheel-drive and platform record.
This past weekend, Jeffrey J. Hart directed the Revvolution.com production which broadcasted the entire event live on Facebook to our partners 1320Video, Street FX Motorsports & Graphics, Revvolution and Shift-S3ctor’s pages and reached over 1.5 million live viewers!
The 2017 Heuberger Subaru Pikes Peak Airstrip Attack is a Revvolution Shift-S3ctor event, held in conjunction with and in support from the Colorado Springs Sports Corporation. The Revvolution Shift-S3ctor and Sports Corp team would like to send out many thanks to the Colorado Springs Airport, its director, staff and team, the City of Colorado Springs and its Mayor, El Paso County and all of our supporting sponsors, partners and media for all their help in making it such a successful weekend. The team looks forward to an even larger, more record-breaking 2018 event with many improvements in the works!
