With the recent release of the 2015 Subaru WRX STi, shops all over the country were chomping at the bit to get a hold of one to start modifying it. One of those shops was New Jersey-based Prime Motoring.
The team at Prime Motoring looked to AMS for their upgrade to the STi power plant. The decision was made to go with the AMS Subaru WRX/STi 950R turbo kit paired with an AMS Subaru WRX/STi front mount intercooler. And when the install was complete, Junior Barrios of JR Tuned jumped in the cockpit to get the car fully dialed in. The Prime Motoring STi is a daily driven car running the full interior and, as of now, has had no modifications to reduce the weight of the car.
On October 27, just two days after the first 2015 STi ran a email@example.com mph, Prime Motoring took their newly modified 2015 STi out to Island Dragway in Great Meadows, N. J., to see if they could dominate the strip and come in with a faster time. When the dust settled and the smoke cleared, the time clock read firstname.lastname@example.org mph! The guys at Prime Motoring and AMS were extremely pleased with the trap, but are already planning for faster runs. Currently, they are waiting for beefier replacements for the stock driveshaft and axles, as well as a set of 15-inch wheels accompanied by some super sticky tires.
With this car already running mid 9s, it will be interesting to see where they go from here. Keep an eye out for the Prime Motoring STi in the future; you’re sure to see them in the headlines again soon.
