Okay. We have to be honest here. The first step in fixing a problem is admitting that you have one, right? Well, here goes nothing.
We haven’t stopped thinking about the Toyota FT-1 Vision concepts that continue to make us drool. We know, we know; there are more important things to do in life besides dreaming of cars that probably won’t come to fruition—at least not in its current form. But we can’t help it.
We did something crazy last night. We hit the bottle hard and wandered onto Photoshop. Bad (read: great) things happened.
Original concept rendering.
While we have only been graced with the FT-1 in two very bold and different colors, bright, borderline Arrest-me Red and a satin grey, we wondered how the FT-1 would look masked in some of the Supra’s most iconic paint colors.
The Supra had such great colors like the Silver Metallic, used from 1993 to 1996; Super Bright Yellow, a limited color used from 1998 to 1999; and Super White II, used from 1993 to 2001.
Whether we even see a new Supra—and pray that we do—our mock-ups show that it will be one sick looking car in an assortment of colors.
If we even see such a car, which we know won’t be as wild of a design as the concept because of such things like "safety standards” and "cost,” it is nice to see what the colors do to enhance the already great design.
Dream, can’t we?
Cars are meant to have color. The world isn’t awash in silver and gray and black.
Our very own mock-ups show what color can do. We even added in a stanced FT-1 with a custom wing—because that is what people would do with such a machine.

We’ll leave the assortment of color options for your perusal. See which one you like so you too can think and dream and wonder if Toyota is finally getting its mojo back after all these years.

It will be interesting to see how enthusiasts respond to any future Supra offering. Not only does any new iteration have a lot to live up to, but it also has to look good doing it.
We think the FT-1 will do just fine.
