Memorial Day Weekend: Cruizin' at Calvary

Memorial day weekend always brings that exciting feeling that the automotive season has truly kicked off. While we scoured the local area to find some cool shows to feature, we came across the Cruizin’ to Calvary hot-road, customs and classic car show held yearly at the Rocky Mountain Calvary Church in Colorado Springs, CO. While the sun held fast at high-noon, spirits were high in anticipation of the judged event.

Super Comp 9.50 second dragster made an appearance.

1969 Pontiac GTO in swamp green...

Ferrari 'Pea Green' 1966 T-Bird. The owner actually shipped a color sample straight from the Ferrari Italian factory to ensure a correct match.

1962 VW Type 261 Pickup. One of our favorite rides at the show by far.

1954 Ford Customline showing its age, and there's nothing wrong with that!

Garage-kept and was in almost perfect condition when the owner took possession. A ton of elbow-grease went into bring that brilliant shine back out!

2000 Dodge Viper RT-10, all alone and looking good.

1976 Corvette Stingray, 350 Cubic Inches L82

1974 GMC Pickup

1970 Chevy CST/10

The Colorado Springs Model A chapter giving Team Revvolution the thumbs-up! Hopefully we will land a feature of this chapter's cars, because they were truly amazing vehicles restored by truly amazing people.

1956 Ford Pickup in candy-apple red.

Found this on a 1936 Ford Tudor.

Quite possible the coolest coolant reservoir ever!

As Memorial Day weekend continues, we can’t wait to see what other shows will pop-up and warrant us to take out our cameras to snap some shots. Hopefully these Hot Rodders will become part of our active community, because if there are two things that our community loves and wants to see more of, they are the true icons of American history – the Classics and Hot Rods.
