Welcome to the official Team Revvolution SEMA 2014 coverage preview! The SEMA (Specialty Equipment Manufacturer's Association) Show is the automotive industry's premier specialty and aftermarket product trade event that takes place annually in Las Vegas, Nev. In 2013, the show drew more than 130,000 participants and 2,500 exhibitors from 130 countries, making it the largest 'modified' industry event in the world.
What started out as an idea, gradually spiraled into something amazing. We picked a set of locations and assembled our small team of automotive photographers and videographers known as #TeamRevv and set out on an adventure. From Los Angeles to San Diego and finally to Las Vegas, we documented our experience along the way. This is the story behind what went down at the first of many ModLife Tours. The people we met, the cars we shot and the places we went.
It all started out as a simple idea; an idea that would spiral into something amazing. We picked a set of locations that were easily accessible, assembled a small team of automotive photographers and videographers known as #TeamRevv, and set out for an adventure. What was originally an idea focused on capturing original, exclusive and exceptional content has morphed into something more along the lines of a social experiment. An experiment where the subjects aren’t just highly modified cars, but also the personalities, the locations, the crews, the meets, the nightlife and the car culture at large. The way we capture this experiment is what makes it unique. The photography and film that allows us to pass on our experiences. Welcome to the first #ModLife Tour. The first of many.
We focus on where we like to spend the majority of our time with any car⎯the interior. Our initial impression of the Subaru BRZ and Scion FR-S found many similarities in platform, performance and even styling, but the interior trim between the two cars does offer up some key differences.
This is Shift S3ctor's Airstrip Attack. You have two days of sanctioned racing down the strip at the New Coalinga Municipal Airport in central California. Drivers get a half-mile to push their cars to the limit of power and speed and compare themselves with other contenders. The vehicles competing here are built by some of the biggest names in the industry—the crème de la crème of the racing world. This is certainly the place to be if you want to see state-of-the-art technology in some superbly tuned vehicles.
