The roll races competition is really what this event is all about. The high-level competition pits competitors against each other, taking them off the streets and putting them in a safe environment where they can really show what their machines are worth. It’s put so much more into perspective. It’s not just about how many horses come pumping out, but also about the strategy, the shifts, putting the rubber to the pavement, gearing ratios and having the cajones to hang it all out on the line for that one glory pull. This is what it’s all about. We’re not trying to diminish the importance of record-enabling trap speeds, but this is toe-to-toe competition and what many of our competitors come out for!
This past weekend marked the conclusion of the 2015 Pikes Peak Speedweek, and what will go down as the most successful and largest half-mile side-by-side roll racing event in the world: the Pikes Peak Airstrip Attack, in our own backyard at the Colorado Springs Airport!
Revvolution and Shift-S3ctor announce the return of the Pikes Peak Airstrip Attack at the Colorado Springs Airport. Half-mile side-by-side roll racing event adds more excitement to Pikes Peak Speedweek and Colorado Springs.
The first time you hold an event in a new location, there is always the concern of if the fans will enjoy it and, more important, will they show up? Those fears were allayed for Shift-S3ctor and Revvolution as more than 3,000 spectators poured through the gates at the inaugural Pikes Peak Airstrip Attack by OB Prestige Auto. Featuring half-mile roll race and trap speed competitions, we knew it would attract a lot of attention–not only from the spectators, but also from enthusiasts and the race community as well. With over 90 competitors (per day) averaging more than 750 hp, we knew this was going to be a killer event.
It's official! Revvolution and Shift-S3ctor have formally opened up driver / competitor registration and spectator tickets yesterday, Monday April 28th, 2014. If you have any interest in participating or attending the event, be sure you secure your spot now. Driver spots and spectator tickets are limited!
