Recently I posted an article about how amazing the Maserati MC12 GT1 race car looked and sounded on track. That brief clip was under a minute and a half, but it did a great job of distilling the essence of the all-conquering MC12 GT1 racers. Naturally, the Revvolution team was mid-chubby for this machine even before the vid ended, so we fired up the Google to find moar. Now, for your viewing pleasure, here’s three MC12 GT1s doing battle on a racetrack.
We’ve been following T1 Race Development’s 2000-horsepower R35 GT-R for some time now. Purpose built to Godzilla-smash quarter- and half-mile ETs and mile-per-hour records, T1’s GT-R just laid down some massive dyno numbers, which are beautifully highlighted in a new video produced and edited by our own Stuart Leiby of T1.
The 2004-2005 Maserati MC12 is legendary in supercar circles. It was more race car than road car, and more visually appealing than the Ferrari Enzo it was based on. This 600-plus hp, V-12-powered beast went 0-60 in under 4 seconds and topped out at over 200 mph, and only 50 very lucky customers got the privilege to plop down 400,000 British pounds for one of these striking cars.
This 2000-horsepower GT-R is being built for one purpose: speed. Our contact over with T1 has passed on some details as the build comes closer to completion.
By now it seems everyone in the automotive racing world is familiar with the annual TX2K event in Houston, Texas, each March. What everyone may not be aware of is the invitation-only clash of the titans race that takes place just weeks after, and attracts the biggest names in the high-end performance street scene.
