Anyone who has built a project car has come to learn that the process can be somewhat organic. For JJ Chen and his project Fast Autoworks Scion FR-S, the seeds were planted in 2009 when he decided to pursue his passion for things automotive.
It all started out as a simple idea; an idea that would spiral into something amazing. We picked a set of locations that were easily accessible, assembled a small team of automotive photographers and videographers known as #TeamRevv, and set out for an adventure. What was originally an idea focused on capturing original, exclusive and exceptional content has morphed into something more along the lines of a social experiment. An experiment where the subjects aren’t just highly modified cars, but also the personalities, the locations, the crews, the meets, the nightlife and the car culture at large. The way we capture this experiment is what makes it unique. The photography and film that allows us to pass on our experiences. Welcome to the first #ModLife Tour. The first of many.
Toyota recently created quite a bit of excitement with the unveiling of their FT-1 concept. It was a concept car, like any concept, designed to inject new life and vigor into the brand, and by all accounts, it has been a huge success by doing just that. Many of us assumed it to be the next generation of the Supra, which holds a special place in the heart of all of us who fell in love with the great Japanese sports cars of the 1990’s. Toyota has confirmed those assumptions, and announced that it will in fact be the new Supra.
Project cars come and go, some leaving you breathless, while others turn into Frankenstein creations that should have remained only ideas. A truly unique project car requires months or even years of patience to finish. Throw together three differing opinions and the knowledge to back each one and you have one of the toughest builds around.
