Writing styles is essentially another way to say the form or type of written work you're producing. Think of it as a classification to be able to identify what form of writing you're doing.
The four most commonly recognized styles of writing are expository, descriptive, narrative, and persuasive.
No matter what type of assignment writing you enjoy creating – Being able to recognize these different styles and distinguish what a piece of writing is supposed to do is essential to becoming a better reader — and a stronger writer.

Hey, My name is Samuel Gong, and I’d like to be known as a Canadian photographer. Right now I am residing in Toronto, but I plan to move to the mountains in a few years.
