Just read an article that Honda will be showcasing their new Civic Coupe at SEMA. They make mention that "they want their Civic to be as popular with the tuner scene as it was in the 90's." Is this even possible on this platform?

Hmm I think if they sell it for super cheap it might have a chance! Or 10 years the road maybe? Seems like there are just so many other options people can go with that are cheaper and better than buying a brand new, pricy and heavier modern Civic.

I agree. I think it's a matter of all those things to. THAT, and if they really did want it to be as popular, it would have to be as modifiable. part of the reason they're so popular is because they're so open and easy to modify, and there are a multitude of parts available for them, and these parts are fairly cheap. not to mention you can pick one up for less then 2k anywhere.

So yea, I believe that it could be popular, but not right away. The world of tuning will need to adjust to it, and start developing parts for it BEFORE it can gain traction. but this is just my opinion.
