I would be getting either those Arias forged (slightly used) or the brandy new 2g pistons off of a good friend of mine. I'm still thinking Arias. The evo III 16g is going to be reaching it's maximum efficiency at about 25 lbs, so I'm probably going to run her about 22. I've got her externally gated, running a 38mm off of the o2 housing, which is open dump so I'm not really worried about creep. The build was all with making it relatively cheap and easy to upgrade off of the 16g when I choose. She is completely overbuilt for that turbo haha

Oh, gotcha. I would go with the Arias then. Higher compression and stronger! What O2 housing did you get? I am really beginning to contemplate going external with all the issues I am having trying to keep it stock looking, but the cheapest new kit I found with a recirc dump is about $520. I would rather keep messing with the internal and get cams with that money!

Understood. I'm fortunate enough to be good friends with a couple talented machinists/welders so mine is something of a homebrew that ran me 50. It is the black one on the right. I need to clean it up a bit so I can get it ceramic coated. The one next to it is Punishment Racing's recirculated SS version for the 38mm. That was nabbed for 200 from a guy who bought it and never used it. Not mine, kinda wish it was though lol

Ahh yes, the punishment racing one is the exact one I was referring to! It looks mighty good! Sounds like I need to take a trip to Conneticut if I need some cheap custom work done! I do still like the idea of appearing to be completely stock but having a ton of HP. Other than my front mount (which every ricer has anyways) and my Aeromotive AFPR my engine bay looks pretty much stock.

The Punishment piece is a beaut. The flanges are nice and thick and the welds are just plain pretty lol Yeah, there are a few folks who will pretty much do work for any combination of a few bucks/beer/pizza/wings/parts trades. I feel like DSMers have developed their own financial institution haha

Haha, yeah. There are so many how to do this or that on the cheap/free threads. What is the deal here? It seems like this has turned into a DSM forum already!

Because DSM are racecar! haha

Hahah... Well, quick update. I blew out another turbo to manifold gasket. When my roommate and I were trying to get the nut and bolt off with an impact gun I managed to snag my finger on the spinning gasket shards and probably bled more than I ever have in my life. Darn thing just now stopped bleeding after 24 hours. Who knew a finger had so much blood in it?! So now I actually ordered stock turbo bolts and a 7cm multilayer gasket instead of using non heat resistant bolts and used gaskets. Going to try and get a helicoil or something to rethread the turbine housing so I can actually get it tight.

I changed oil today, 5w-30 Mobil 1 with a Mobil 1 Filter. Today was also the first day I used ramps to lift up the car which 350Zs suck to get on them because they are so low. But it is better than normal, because usually I have to use the vehicles jack to lift it high enough so I can get another jack underneath it to raise it high enough so I can get under it.

Would you say that ramps provided you adequate height to fit in an oil change? How high were they?
