Ready for a book? I spent the entire weekend, and when I say entire I mean about 50+ hours in the garage working on my Talon or driving around looking for parts. The Walbro 255 fuel pump installation went off with very minimal hitches. (Forgot to clip in the plug all the way so I had to install it twice. Only took a little over an hour total including learning how to do it) Then I started on porting out the header in preparation to install the new 20G turbo another weekend. A buddy came over and looked bored, so I made the awesome decision to let him rip out the T25 so we could install the 20G. By 3:30am Friday we had the turbo out and fitted with the oil return and coolant feed and return and the header half ported out. Saturday I finished porting out the header and began installing the 20G. Had everything ready to go except the oil feed line at about 8pm. My roommate realized that the compression fitting that was in the stock turbo wouldn't work with the 20G. After going to all the local stores we made the awesome decision to try and JB Weld it. We let it cure overnight and started it up in the morning and not surprisingly it leaked! Spent the rest of the day helping my roommate with the head and brakes on his cars and looking for a fitting that wouldnt leak. After picking up every fitting at lowes and advance auto we found that none of them fit, so we tried to JB Kwik Weld the threads of the stock fitting this time. Waited 4 hours and started it up. NO LEAKS! We take it out and drive it about a mile down the road, not more than a 1/4 throttle ever and I notice that the wastegate isnt working, but my wideband is still running at 10.5afrs. I do it one more time to show my roommate and POP the charge pipe lets loose at 19psi car dies. We get pull off the plug for the maf (only way it will even start with a 100% boost leak) and limp it home. Pop the hood to put the charge pipe back on to start datalogging and notice that the fitting is leaking oil. I have spent the last few days trying to pick up a banjo bolt fitting from DSM friends, craigslist etc and finally gave up when they all fell through and overnighted a oil feed kit. I got the kit last night and low and behold the kit I was sent was the wrong one. So I decided to wire up the headlights on the Jetta so I would have at least one legal car that I can drive after dusk. I am getting a second kit overnighted today and hopefully will finally be able to start the Talon up tomorrow afternoon. I cant wait to see how fast this thing is!

This should come with a Table of Contents! haha. Dude LOVE the coverage. Can't wait to hear how she purrs. Love how you tried to gerry-rig the feed line. I mean, it's not that important, right?? Good thing you actually find an oil feed kit for your car. If I were to upgrade my S40 to the K16 turbo (pretty much a direct bolt-on, as it's made for the Focus RS, which is the same block as mine), it's damn near impossible to find the proper feed kit without scouring EU. Keep us informed on the build Josh. Pics pics pics! And this is what I've been doing for the last 5 days. Traveling from Baltimore to Colorado Springs, CO ! Here are some shots...Packed-up the whip for the long journey! Good thing those tie-downs didn't do any damage to her. Also had to verify that I had the appropriate clearance to even load. Had literally less than 1/4" to play with. Just HAD to tag the Penske truck! And no trip is complete without a flat on the trailer.... good thing I had full coverage insurance. Don't leave home without it.

Haha, yeah my posts are usually pretty long! Hmmm, well after my ordeal I know enough places that I can probably make something work for you. I wanted to stay with the OFH location, but the kit was actually cheaper.... minus me shipping it overnight. I am trying to get pictures that my buddy took while we were installing it. You know me, when I am working on something I just want it done and dont want to dirty my phone taking pics! How is it out in the midwest? Dang one flat over a 2,000 mile journey? Not bad!

Keep up the good work. Definitely try to get a hold of those pics! I wish I was still back on the Right Coast and I would be knee deep in that DSM too. I totally understand how especially when you're frustrated, the last thing you want to do is whip out your camera and take pics of your predicament. lol Midwest is excellent. Gorgeous, to wake up to Pike's Peak every morning. I'll post a picture out my home office window tomorrow morning, just to reiterate the fact =) However, I soon realized a "problem" that was overlooked before the move. http://revvolution.com/forums/threads/display/50/

I am working on it! Haha me too man, I could have "borrowed" some charge pipe from you yesterday so we could have taken her out for her maiden voyage. Dont make me jealous now! Haha, I just responded to your "problem". My theory... bigger turbo. Also your spool will be a lot slower up there too, soooooo you need a supercharger to spool that larger turbo up!

Fixed some rock chips sad

@drxlcarfreak - Ha, gotcha man. Bigger turbo you say? I know this guy from my Volvo forums that is in the process of installing the K16 turbo.. direct bolt-on. Same turbo / block as the Focus RS (but the RS has upgraded internals). Definitely thinking about doing this.... if it fits his AWD. That's the only hang-up at this point. Oh, and software. Finding a Volvo tuner in the states is damn near next to impossible. How did the maiden voyage go?? @koomba - At least they're fixed! And that's one sexy WRX

God yes, the answer is ALWAYS bigger turbo! I honestly dont see how it couldn't fit. I went from a tiny T25 to a 20G and honestly I was a big disappointed in the size difference given that the 20G flows twice as much air as the T25. I actually thought I was shipped the wrong turbo haha. I only had to remove my AC fan because the wastegate is angled very differently. I cant believe that someone hasn't made a piggyback for your engine yet. Well, it went ok... Had a decent exhaust leak the first time out. Took Shane with me to show him that the wastegate finally holds at 8psi, then did a 3rd-5th gear pull on the highway and the gasket between the header and turbo let loose and the car went instantly rich and fouled a plug so we limped home. I took the plugs out, cleaned them off, cleared the CEL and started it up and it ran fine. Said WHEW! I didn't bend valves and called it a night. Last night I started taking the header off of the turbo to replace the gasket and get bolt actually tight this time so I dont blow out another gasket and managed to break a bolt off... Shane and I spent all night trying to get the bolt out. We tried vice grips, WD-40, torch, 2 kinds of EZ outs, welding bolts to it for leverage and decided to just try and drill it out. Went through every drill bit we had in the garage and are about 20% of the way through the bolt. This sucker is TIGHT! So I am going to pick up a drill set at Lowe's on the way home tonight and hopefully, HOPEFULLY get it started tonight.
