Hey guys this will serve as the official build thread for my now long term project. She's an 87 B2600 with 169k and on the cusp of 170 smiley-razz I was gifted the truck by my father as i was out of a running daily driver. It has the weber 32/36 upgrade and all emissions removed to help simplify the drivetrain as a whole. The frame is straight as it was used as a pavement hauler for fill dirt in its years on earth so basically a DD. It is not with out some issues which i will do my best to address. First being the head which has a cracked pifter tower and worn, worn valve guides but i have the replacement from a fwd G54B engine but i do not know if it will work. Mabey there are some Mitsu nuts who would know better. Secondly and less of a concern is my front end alignment which will be taken care of here shortly. I do plan to add some modifications as i would like to port and polish my new head if it turns out it will fit and port match my intake mani to match. I will also by trying for the pacesetter header for this model and possibly some decent gauges, most importantly being a tach haha. Nothing ricey though even though my truck is straight jdm yo heeheehee... For now you can see the truck in its current state in my Garage till i figure this site out better. Looking forward to posting update for those who wanna know smiley-razz

Here's the link to my garage if your feeling lazy lolhttp://revvolution.com/account/garage/jmanwantsboost/260/ I have done a couple little mods like blacking out my emblems and grill and putting my revvolution sticker on and a cheesy shift knob that looks like a .44 mag cylinder lol. major things should be on the horizon including new wheels and new motorwork wink

Definitely not a bad looking truck man.... Yeah I love Mitsu but my main knowledge comes from the 4G63 power plant. How far you planning on taking this build? I miss having a truck myself...

to be honest there isnt a lot of aftermarket support so my goal is more to kinda clean it up and make a sweet daily/light duty fourby that i can drive to work and clown about on the weekends. i'd love to have my self a fuel injected yota cause the aftermarkets nuts for those or mabey an mr2. foer now though making this truck clean and reliable is whats on the docket

Good deal. Make sure you post a ton of pics while you do that! I'd love to see your progress.

so for christmas me and a buddy did our fourbyfour trip to the trails and had a lot of fun. the truck performed great and pulled up a hill my buddie couldnt get at although his tires admittedly were bald so i know his truck can do it with ease. he drives a little 93 d21 hardbody for the record lol. I didnt have my camera on me for the trip as it was an impromptu adventure but i did get a couple from the mud left standing today. its a 4x4's badge of honor wink. now for the not so fun. on arriving home i found that my front driverside shock absorber was loose and i was tripping out but everything is alright. i didnt hurt the upper mount but while trying to tighten it back down i found the nut rusted tight. so i said eff it and ordered two new shocks. they are just standard 25$ monroe shocks but sure better than the old ass ones on there now. they will be in the store tomorrow and i am getting a friend to come help install them smiley ill take some pics of the job lol. so begins the project lol!

That is exactly how it's supposed to be done! You can also use the image button to place the images into a thread using their direct URL. But you got it right! Looks like fun too. How did the truck hold-up in the mud?

Thats awesome glad to know ive got the hang of this lol. easier than using tinypic haha. my truck held up very very well and i was suprised. i did a few hill climbs and it pulled up them with releitive ease. didnt like the mud as much but i never got stuck. i had so much fun haha. now my shock absorber job was very easy didnt take too long. i just put in standard monroe gas charged shocks but now my front end seems to sit higher but i hope it settles down a bit lol. now i think i will need new rears as well haha. heres the album with the pics only a couple smiley-razzhttp://revvolution.com/account/albums/jmanwantsboost/1270/

Nice man. Glad to hear that she treated you well out there! I believe that mudding is always a technique acquired with every vehicle. You get the basics down, but pushing to the limit is always has the limiting factor of the vehicle... you'll get it! I just recently can push the hell out of my volvo in the snow/ice. I honestly couldn't believe what a difference a set of winter tires would make! Regarding the shocks, I ran into the same issue - replaced my rear and then about less than 5k miles I was replacing the front. Also crazy difference new shocks made... as to be expected lol. I feel that shocks are one of those items on a car that degrade so slowly you really don't notice until they're shot. So it was easy? You should write a tutorial! Good work tho man. Self repair / maintenance is always rewarding.
