To be an auto enthusiast you don't have to hate one others that are smart financially with their money. Modding is expensive, buying sports cars are expensive. You are not a true auto enthusiast if you have to throw out hate because people are spending money modding their cars like you.

I love how people have to sound off before they say goodbye. Could have just left. No one would have noticed. The question is did this person actually leave or will they come back and look at all the posts regarding his goodbye and his whining. Poor loser that is all that is. I always wondered what a "real racer" is. Maybe he will come back and educate us all.

Showdown isn't about mods. Sometimes I pick a car because I like the way it looks, or it is a great photograph, or you can see how much love the owner put into it. I am more likely to vote for an unmodified vehicle if the owner took the time to wash the car and take a nice photo in a nice location. As opposed to a very dirty car in a drive way.

So...how do you respond at a car show with actual trophies when you didnt win or beat out the "other guy?"

Do you flip out like this then too?   Either you are into the cars for the attention, or you are in it for the passion regardless of the dollar amount spent. NO reason to get pissed if a guy only spent $2-$4k and has a better looking and performing car...IE why it is called a "SHOW DOWN" and the members are the ones looking at your car, not you.

LOL. I was thinking about moderating this thread, but the truth is that there will always be haters, and there will always be parades, and that will never change.  Clearly somebody had a bad day and wanted to sound off here, and if that makes him feel better, by all means, glad we could help!

But I think he's missing the real concept of the Show-Down. I 100% completely agree with David on this one - the show-down is for EVERYBODY. There will be people that vote just for people that have modifications, there will be people who vote for similar platforms as their own, there will be people who vote for photographs. We want EVERYBODY to be able to participate in the Show-Down, no matter what make model or mods. Everybody starts somewhere, and if you have pride in your car, it shows. That's what we're all about. Appreciation. And if you can't appreciate, then you can get the hell out, you're not welcome here.

this might make me a hater, but i'm inclined to agree. people don't want to see lame, dime-a-dozen stock cars. i'm guessing that's why this site has like 7 members! i mean, let's be honest, the showdown is a complete joke. and telling people to get the hell out might not be the best approach. just my 2 cents...

The show-down hasn't even been "started" since we flipped the switch on the new site. You'll see that once we do, your so called "lame" cars will inevitably weed themselves out. That's how the show-down works
