Welcome to the first installment in a series of Revvolution articles where we reflect on the global nationalistic genres (or scenes) that define OUR enthusiast landscape. Domestic, Euro, and Japanese are just some of the dominant cliques that we all identify with. But here at Revvolution, beaming our signal straight from the heart of the Rockies, we present the first chapter in this series: The American Dream.

The sun was barely peeking out from the clouds on that cold Cinco de Mayo. But it was the season's first Drift Colorado Point Series event at IMI Motorsports Complex in Dacono, Colorado. Cold for us, but it was the perfect temperature for turbochargers to suck in all the cool air they wanted and keep those engines happy.

When it was announced that the FR-S and BRZ were going to hit the streets, the buzz started immediately. Many new owners of these cars looked at them as alternatives to the beloved Supras, which are getting harder and harder to find unmodified and at a reasonable budget. People loved the look and handling of the compact, lightweight sports car, but it became clear that if left alone it was going to have one weak spot—power. This past weekend, we had the opportunity to check out an event that we've been itching to become part of for some time now. When our friends at the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb (PPIHC) mentioned that they were invited to participate in an SCCA Rocky Mountain Solo Championship Series 2013 autocross event, we jumped at the opportunity to get on-board. While we were anxious to finally get some of our own Revvolution vehicles involved in this particular event, several final adjustments needed to be completed before they were ready to hit the tarmac. So instead, I grabbed my Canon to try and capture the essence of what this event was all about.
