Well I suppose since in the long run this Talon is my project, I should get a build thread started. Pictures to be up ASAP! Its basically stock minus, turbo back exhaust, intake, hard intercooler piping, head was rebuilt using Evolution VIII valves and supertech springs. And the coolest mod of all... My Evo VIII shift knob hahaha! Where it sits now i will be redoing the exhaust, and taking out the stock ECU and running it with the Evolution VIII ECU. I like its tuning capabilities just a bit more then DSMlink. I know to complete a project or a build you need an end goal set but im not sure if I want a holy street terror or a drag monster. Either way, the whole car will be gone over, new suspension, rebuilding another 6 bolt (maybe I should put in a 7 bolt and be different haha), swapping my 3 bolt rear for a 4 bolt rear end, and many many more things... I will keep the log updated as I go along. It will be a slow on going process...

I got a nice 95 7 bolt with a slight case of rod knock. AFAIK completely devoid of crankwalk!

Hahaha right! That just means its time for some aftermarket rods and pistons, stroker to destroke 2.1L with a 10:1 compression ratio. That may be a long term goal of mine anayway.

Ok I lied, I thought we switched to Evo VIII valves but we used MAP's SS stock sized valves in my head. And has had a minor port and polish, ARP studs in the head, OEM head gasket (lame) And the supertech springs are just the singles. 272's and certain 280's my head can support, and it is safe for me to rev it too 8800-9000rpm.

Nah I have known some guys to do a set up like that so the can rev to 10K and run 35psi on E85 and get some damn good numbers. I want to say Ross has a set of pistons like that specificly made for boost and E85 at a 10:1 compression ratio.

Oh yeah, I forgot about E85. Why stop at 10.0:1 if you dont ever knock then?

10:1 is a good static compression ratio especially if I'm not gonna be on E85 all the time. I can just flash a 91 octane/lower boost/ more retarded timing map on the ECU for those occasions. And still have some go fast! Im still thinking in the future to do a stroker to destroked 2.1L to match the rpm's my head can safely turn... but then I need to find a turbo and the right cams that can perform to 8200rpm. But that is future speak... for now stock block and a 14B maybe to be upgraded to an HTA68 and 272's...

Im stuck right now... having a hard time finding an extra 1g ECU to mock up the one from the Evo! I may have hit a new source though... Keeping my fingers crossed!
