Welcome to the official Team Revvolution SEMA 2014 coverage preview! The SEMA (Specialty Equipment Manufacturer's Association) Show is the automotive industry's premier specialty and aftermarket product trade event that takes place annually in Las Vegas, Nev. In 2013, the show drew more than 130,000 participants and 2,500 exhibitors from 130 countries, making it the largest 'modified' industry event in the world.
The 2013 edition of the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb (PPIHC) is a race we won’t soon forget. We saw records shattered, unpredictable weather, redemption for some, scary crashes for others, and a huge audience both on and off the mountain (and around the world). There was also a feeling of great expectation for the future, but we’ll get into that a little later.
When you think about Texas, what's the first thing that comes to mind? If it's high horsepower, you've come to the right place and we've done something right. It's only fitting that Texas throws an event of this caliber considering it also hosts two of the oldest and most well-known high-speed races, the Texas Mile and the Texas Invitational (TI). And, it’s home to what was once considered the fastest non-restrictor plate tracks on the NASCAR circuit with entry speeds in excess of 102 mph, and corner entry speeds over 200 mph. This makes it a perfect venue for TX2K. For the past 15 years, TX2K has kicked off the automotive season in March and has easily become one of Revvolution's favorite events of the year. Who needs a beach with a bunch of drunk college kids? It might just be us, but a mass gathering of some of the baddest cars in the nation sounds far more appealing.
This past weekend marked the conclusion of the 2015 Pikes Peak Speedweek, and what will go down as the most successful and largest half-mile side-by-side roll racing event in the world: the Pikes Peak Airstrip Attack, in our own backyard at the Colorado Springs Airport!
When Shift-S3ctor created their very first Airstrip Attack in October 2011, the theory was simple—provide a safe, legal, and competitive atmosphere where they could push their vehicles and themselves to the limit. Throughout the past three years, this event has grown by unsurpassed proportions. What once was a gathering of friends has snowballed into an event that attracts some of the most important names in the automotive performance industry. To many, Shift-S3ctor’s Airstrip Attack has become a proving ground to assert their dominance and to establish or reaffirm their place in this industry. Check out our coverage from the October 2013 Airstrip Attack event.
