Local Colorado radio station 106.7 KBPI’s tagline is "KBPI Rocks the Rockies,” and on August 24th they did just that with their 10th annual Rock N’ Roll Car Show. Just like their past shows, this year’s event was held at Bandimere Speedway in Morrison, Colo., and being that it’s nestled in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, the location couldn’t be more fitting.
As the name suggests, the Rock N’ Roll Car Show features cars in the typical show format, but there is much more to this event than just the car show. To go along with the show, there was a burnout contest, blown engine contest, live music, autocross, drag racing and a charity car bash where you could have a few swings with a sledgehammer at a Cadillac Catera. With so much to do it was easy to keep busy all day.
Then there was the host, Willie B. He is not only the host of KBPI’s Morning Show, but you might have seen him co-hosting PINKS All Out or Two Guys Garage. For those of you who don’t know him, he is the definition of an automotive enthusiast through and through, and you can see his passion from a mile away. If all the other activities didn’t keep you entertained, Willie B yelling excitedly over the intercom sure did.
Since it's known as "the biggest and baddest car show in Denver,” you can bet these cars were top-notch. And when I say top-notch, I mean it. You could literally eat off the paint of some of the cars, although I don’t think the owners would want you doing that. Most of them weren’t just show cars either; they were throwing it down on the track as well.
This year’s showing was quite a diverse one, and no matter what type of car you’re into there was something for you. As you’ll see in our coverage, the whole spectrum was covered: from rusted and patina’d rat rods, hot rods and muscle cars to lifted and slammed trucks, imports and bikes.
With a huge turnout and a break in the abnormally rainy Colorado summer, KBPI’s 10th annual Rock N’ Roll Car Show was a good time, to say the least. If you weren’t able to make it this year don’t worry, #TeamRevv has your back.
